We recommend that you purchase a Notary Public law primer for your state. It will help you get through your exam (if your state has one). It is also a good reference book that you should keep for all of the years of your notary commission. You need to know the laws of your state, otherwise you may appear to be unprofessional in front of clients and you might also unintentionally break the law which could result in fines, or other consequences. The bookstore has the Notary Public law primer and many other helpful books.
